BENDIXの船外機は、1936年から1940年に製造されました。
非常に短期間です。
このエンジンは、空冷であり、この年代にして随分古いエンジンの電気系統です。６Vの電池により電気を供給します。

このエンジンは、前から気になっていて非常に個性があるスタイルです。
2馬力なので手に入れることにしました。

This is a 1937 Eclipse 2hp outboard motor. Made by the Bendix Marine Division, of the Bendix Aviation Corp. , South Bend, Indiana. This belongs to my neighbor. He has had it for 60 years or so. It has been setting in his shed for a long time. It is in very good overall condition and does turn over freely. I have not had it running. It will most likely need a carburator cleaning and possibly the gas tank. It starts manually with a pull rope and gets it’s spark from a coil powred by a 6v dry cell battery. The battery cables are still intact but are a bit frayed and may need replacing if you intend to run for other than display. It is in it’s original condition with the original name decal intact. This whole thing is aluminum construction. There has been a repair  made on the front as evident on the last 2 pictures. I don’t know the nature of the repair except that meybe there was a crack where the 2 pieces (the tank and the housing) come together and were bolted. Other than that it is a great little collectible motor that would look great with your others. This one would be an easy fix and would look great. No dents etc.
